Federer Wins Again...

Not quite the "classic" that I had predicted... Roger Federer beat Marcos Baghdatis 5-7, 7-5, 6-0, 6-2 to win the 2006 Australian Open.

Baghdatis won the first set and led for most of the second until Federer put the choke hold on him and won 11 straight games.

This is Federer's seventh Grand Slam championship. He is now half way to Pete Sampras's all time record of 14.

People are already talking about a possible calendar year Grand Slam for Federer. If he wins the elusive French Open in May, he has a very good chance.
