Arrested Development is Dead...

According to Variety, Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz has refused Showtime's offer to continue production of the show. He said, "Arrested Development [has] reached its end, creatively, as a series." Talking about the show's demands and the stress involved in delivering a high quality product, Hurwitz confided, "I finally reached a point where I felt I couldn't continue to deliver that on a weekly basis. Of course, if there was enough money in it, I would have happily abandoned the fans' need for quality. But as it turns out, there wasn't."

Arrested Development was three seasons old. It is survived by According to Jim, Hope & Faith, The War at Home, Free Ride, Freddie, Out of Practice, Courting Alex, George Lopez, and several other so-called comedies.
