3D & Free From Google

For all of you 3D modelers and engineering types out there, Google has just released the free "Google SketchUp." The program is based on an application and technology from @Last which Google acquired last month. It looks like Google is hoping that an army of modelers will create and populate its Google Earth with all sorts of cool 3D creations.

From Google's site,
Google SketchUp (free) is an easy-to-learn 3D modeling program that enables you to explore the world in 3D. With just a few simple tools, you can create 3D models of houses, sheds, decks, home additions, woodworking projects - even space ships. And once you've built your models, you can place them in Google Earth, post them to the 3D Warehouse, or print hard copies.
