"Stupid Video Friday" & The Office

As millions of Dolf Zone readers already know, NBC's The Office is one of my favorite shows on TV. I have written about it, evangelized it, and promoted it from the very beginning. However, many of you may not know that it is based on a version from Britain that ran on the BBC from 2001 through 2003.

Some of the best moments of the British show derived from David Brent's (The British "Michael" or Steve Carell character) hatred and contempt of his better looking, more intelligent, and more successful manager, Neil Godwin.

Unfortunately, the American version doesn't have an equivalent "Neil" character. I would like to use my influence as a major media critic to suggest to the writers and producers of The Office that an American "Neil" be added to the show. The comedic possibilities that this character could add are infinite.

Watch a clip of the original "The Office" featuring a great David vs. Neil moment. (4:36)

For those of you who have still not seen the American version...
Watch a 10 minute "best of" clip from season 1 (10:06)

If you liked that, there's a huge collection of clips on NBC's official site that includes deleted scenes, fake Public Service Announcements, and much more.
