Veteran's Day?

If it weren't for the Victoria's Secret Veteran's Day Sale sign that you saw while walking through the mall, would you have known that it was Veteran's Day on Saturday?

If Steven Spielberg hasn't re-edited it and replaced all of the guns with walkie talkies, I recommend watching Saving Private Ryan on Veteran's Day. First of all, it's a great movie. Secondly, the opening moments of the Omaha beachhead assault should give you an appreciation of the horrors and sacrifices our troops have faced and will continue to face for years to come.

On a related note, if there are any veterans out there who actually read The DZ, I would love to know your feelings on the use of your holiday to sell beds, couches, TVs and other sundry items.
