Dolf's Rental Pick: The Illusionist

Just released this week on DVD for rental or purchase. Check out my review from September when The Illusionist first hit the theaters. RENT IT!

The Illusionist succeeds on every level that M. Night Shyamalan's Lady in the Water fails. This is the supernatural tale that Shyamalan should have told. I find it quite interesting that Paul Giamatti stars in both of these films.

Edward Norton is outstanding, although somewhat restrained, as Eisenheim, the mysterious titular character. Giamatti gives another great performance as the conflicted Inspector Uhl who is promised power and position by the weaselly Crown Prince Leopold, brilliantly played by a soon-to-be-well-known Rufus Sewell.

I enjoyed this movie from beginning to end. Go out and see it this weekend!
