The non-Marlboro Man

It seems impossible... even unbelievable... but I have not had a delicious, nutritious, smoky-flavored Marlboro Light in three years! Not even a single puff since January 5, 2004!

I had been a 1-2 pack-a-day smoker for 15 years and also had a Kodiak habit 2 years prior to that. That's 17 years of tobacco addiction... If someone of my weak and questionable willpower can quit, anyone can! Maybe I'll write a book.

There is only 1 benefit to quitting smoking: lower life insurance premiums.

Compare that to all the benefits of continuing to smoke:
Looking cool
Sexy coughs
Shorter lifespan
And many more

Hippie-chic website thetruth.com says "One half of all lifetime smokers will die prematurely as a result of smoking." I say, "If only Vegas had those odds! Smoke up!"

Also seen on thetruth.com:
"In the US, 30,000 to 60,000 people die each year from secondhand smoke-related heart disease."
"In the US, about 50,000 people die each year from secondhand smoke-related disease."

Really? So, potentially 60,000 people die from a specific 2nd-hand smoke disease, but only roughly 50,000 die by all diseases combined? Interesting factoid brought to you by thetruth.com.

That being said, nice work on the quitting, Dolfer.
