A nice little technology-themed story that is represents what is WRONG with EVERYTHING - government, insurance, health care, business, intelligence, common sense... everything!

A couple of years ago, she spent more than $8,000 to buy a computer, approved by Medicare, that turns typed words into speech that her family, friends and doctors can hear...
Medicare and private health insurers decline to cover cheap devices like iPhones and netbook PCs that can help the speech-impaired, despite their usefulness and lower cost...

Further proof that fixing the health care system as it exists today does not necessitate further increases to government run health care, as we can clearly see that the government sucks just as bad as the private insurers.
